Urgent Ramp Update – Operations changes
4 November 2024 - 6 November 2024
Update 1 Nov 24: Base Ops notified us that the work on the west ramp has been slipped to the week of November 4. The procedures outlined below still apply. The presence of men, equipment or barricades will be your cue to use the alternate towing route and “no engine run” areas.
All Members,
The following update was just received from Base Ops/Airfield Management:
My apologies, but the work to be done outside of Hangar 333 has increased in scope from what was previously sent. As such, there are a few changes that Aero Club and CAP members need to be aware of.
Please see map below for details. Work will begin tomorrow, 30 Oct 24 TBD and should be complete by 1 Nov 24 TBD, with a follow up final paint to be done at a later time. This work will require milling up asphalt and repaving it. Please ensure that workers are aware you are in the area if you are close to the barricaded area. DO NOT ENTER THE BARRICADED area at any time.
Aero Club and CAP will have to tow aircraft from the west side of the hangar to the fuel station. No engine runs are permitted outside of the hangar or near the work zone.
Please ensure widest dissemination among your members.
A map is below and will also be posted at the Aero Club dispatch desk.
Key changes for our operations include:
Engine operations and/or taxi only permitted west of a point about 50 feet west of the entry to our fueling area.
Aircraft need to be pulled or towed to the west concrete area well clear of the construction area for engine start & run-up.
The pull/tow route will be south out of the hangar to the vehicle road on the south side of our normal area. The transient alert vehicles should be out of the way. Use caution for vehicles on the road and the fire hydrants.
When returning from a flight shutdown at least 50 feet west of the entry to our fueling area and carefully pull/tow the aircraft to the fueling point.
After fueling pull/tow the aircraft to the concrete area west of our fueling area. Then go south to the vehicle road. Head east toward base ops. Turn north toward the hangar doors on the west side of base ops. Use caution and yield to construction personnel & vehicles.
If you have questions, clear them up before you attempt to operate aircraft. With caution and good judgment flying operations can be conducted safely. Without access to the golf cart this will be a physically demanding operation.

Red checkered area will be the contractor area.
Orange are is the work zone (mill, repave, repaint).
Transient Alert will park their vehicles on the other side of the building beginning 30 Oct TBD.
Aero Club / CAP will have to tow aircraft as shown via the yellow line. No engine runs outside of the hangar area.
Work start: 30 Oct 2024 TBD
Work End: 1 Nov 2024 TBD
