SUMMARY:Airplane (and MCX) Cleaning Day
DESCRIPTION:Aircraft Cleaning Day is every third Thursday of the month at 1600.\n \nCome on out to the club to help the plane captains shiny up the planes and give them some TLC. They are the most visible sign of our club\, so we want them to look good. It’s a safety issue too — clean windows help us see and avoid. Of course\, clean planes fly faster\, and we can all appreciate that. \nWe also dust and tidy up the awesome full-motion Redbird MCX simulator. It flies faster when clean\, too.  🙂 \nIt’s all been taking about an hour\, but could be a little more or a little less depending on how many people show up. Many hands make light work!

SUMMARY:Bimonthly Flying Safety Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Flying Safety Meeting is held on the first Wednesday of every even-numbered month (February\, April\, etc.). \nThe general membership meeting begins at 1830 (6:30 pm). \nThe Standardization Board meets at 1800 (6:00 pm). Standardization Board members include club officers\, club advisors\, instructors and clearing authorities (SOFs). \nAttendance at our bimonthly safety meetings is mandatory for club members to maintain flight currency. However\, far from being onerous\, these meetings are great way to keep up with safety topics and to network with fellow flyers. You also may be lucky to win a fabulous door prize! \nIf you are unable to attend an in-person meeting\, you must view the DVD of the meeting in the Kirtland Flight Center office before you can fly again. If you view it when the office is closed\, write a note listing the main topics and slip it under the Chief Flight Instructor’s or the Office Manager’s door to receive credit. If you have any questions about the meeting or slides\, please contact us by email or phone (505) 846-1072.
